The statement, with all due respect to the Presidency, reeks of inconsistencies and too many attempts to distort the obvious.

The statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, is ridiculous and laughable. Rather than answer governance questions bothering on accountability and transparency, it attempted to do some drycleaning job for Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff. Also, there was an attempt to heap the blame of the fraud on the said man who is in the eyes of the controversy, the supposed DG, Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, Adeyemi Adeniyi Matthew.

The statement, with all due respect to the Presidency, reeks of inconsistencies and too many attempts to distort the obvious. Ordinarily, the Presidency has no business issuing a statement as regards this case of alleged criminal impersonation which has so far been linked to the Chief of Staff if not that there is an attempt to bury public interest off the case. In fact, the statement issued by the Presidential spokesperson is not, in any manner, Presidential. It is amateurish and did not state how it is of significant interest to the President. Also, the text failed to address questions that have been raised, some of which I will make reference to in the cause of this intervention.
