A gold trader, his wife and their son were found dead after allegedly ending their lives at their residence at Prashanth Nagar of Gangavathi town in Koppal district on Friday (July 3).The deceased have been identified as Prakash Naykar, 54, his wife Prabha, 46, and their son Shashank, 21.According to police sources, the family, which had been running a jewellery business in the town for several years, is suspected to have taken the extreme step owing to financial distress and mounting debt. The exact circumstances leading to the deaths, however, are yet to be ascertained.Superintendent of Police Ram L. Arasiddi visited the spot and inspected the scene.
