Over the past 24 hours, from the morning of July 3 to the morning of July 4, the Russian military attacked the Sumy region nearly 45 times; five people were killed and about 60 were wounded as a result of the shelling.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“Over the past 24 hours, from the morning of July 3 to the morning of July 4, 2026, Russian troops carried out nearly 45 shelling attacks on 16 settlements in 11 territorial communities of the region. The highest number of shelling incidents was recorded in the Sumy and Konotop districts. As a result of enemy strikes in the Sumy region, five people were killed—including one child—and nearly 60 were injured by enemy shelling over the past 24 hours,” the statement reads.
The Regional Military Administration reported that Sumy was under a massive attack by enemy guided bombs and UAVs over the past 24 hours. “Five people were killed as a result of the airstrikes: a 79-year-old woman, a 33-year-old woman, a 64-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 5-year-old girl. During the enemy’s evening attack with guided aerial bombs, 35 civilians, including 7 children, sustained injuries and wounds of varying severity. Medical assistance continues to be provided to these individuals,” the regional administration noted.
