Amid heavy rainfall in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a holiday for the afternoon session in all schools and colleges across the metropolis on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'red alert' for the financial capital, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, accompanies by gusty winds."The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for Mumbai.
