Traditional rulers in Ijesa North, under the auspices of the Ijesa North Traditional Rulers’ Council in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, have endorsed the aspiration of Pelumi Olajengbesi, Accord Party chieftain,to represent the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general election.

The endorsement was announced on Thursday during a town hall meeting held at the council’s headquarters in Iloko-Ijesa. The gathering was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, residents, Olajengbesi and his wife.

Speaking on behalf of the council Olufemi Agunsoye Oba, the chairman, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa , said the royal fathers were convinced that Olajengbesi possesses the capacity to provide effective representation and attract meaningful development to the constituency.

The monarchs urged residents of Oriade and Obokun local government areas to support leaders capable of delivering responsive governance, stressing the need for quality representation at the National Assembly.

One of the monarchs, the Olowena of Owena-Ijesa, Ayelabola Oladoyinbo Oba, offered prayers for Olajengbesi and his wife during the meeting after inviting the couple to kneel before the council.
