Family, community and the villages of Satapuala, Sa'anapu, Samatau, Lotofaga, Matatufu and Fogapoa in Savai'i were the focus of Mille Samuelu's remarks after being crowned Miss Samoa New South Wales 2026-27.
The 26-year-old said the title reflected the support and sacrifices of those who had helped shape her life.
"This journey is not mine alone. I carry with me the love, sacrifices and strength of my family, my community and the generations before me who have paved the way so I could stand proudly in who I am today," she said.
Samuelu was crowned after competing against two other contestants as Miss House of Providence at the Miss Samoa New South Wales pageant, held on July 3 at Aria Venue in Wetherill Park, Sydney.
She will represent the New South Wales Samoan community at the Miss Samoa Pageant in Samoa in September.
