The International Centre for Migration Policy Development and Ogun State NAPTIP command have sensitised over 40,000 students across 32 selected secondary schools on the danger of human trafficking under the Schools Anti-Trafficking Education and Advocacy Project.
This is just as 30 students from each of the 32 schools visited so far in the course of this advocay project funded by the government of Netherlands have also been inducted into Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Persons Vanguard Club and were presented with T-shirts, school bags, and other educational materials.
This was done in line with the renewed commitment of the Director General of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Binta Bello to intensify public awareness and crackdown on the menace of human trafficking,
Speaking on Friday during the inauguration of the Vanguard Club at Igbusi Comprehensive High School, Iyana Ilogbo, Ifo, Bose Jimoh, the Ogun State NAPTIP Commander said that in line with the directive of NAPTIP DG, the command would leave no stone unturned to win the war against human trafficking saying that prevention remained one of the agency’s key strategies in tackling the menace in the state and the country at large.
