According to the agency, the victims comprised nine females aged between 17 and 19 years, two males aged 22, and a baby.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has received 12 victims of human trafficking repatriated from Ghana as part of ongoing efforts to combat cross-border trafficking and related crimes.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, NAPTIP said that its Lagos Command intensified its crackdown on human trafficking through collaboration with local and international partners.

The statement read, "12 trafficking victims repatriated from Ghana as NAPTIP Lagos intensifies its crackdown on human traffickings.

"The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Lagos Command, has received 12 Victims of Human Trafficking repatriated from Ghana as part of its trans-border collaboration with State and non-state actors in the fight against human trafficking in the Country."
