TVTV NewsBBCThe BBC has shared a trailer for a psychological thriller that will grip viewers17:30, 03 Jul 2026The BBC has shared a first look trailer for a psychological thriller that "crackles with danger".The Rapture - which stars Ruth Madeley, India Amarteifio and Gavin and Stacey's Ruth Jones - is adapted from Liz Jensen’s bestselling novel about a teenager who has been accused of killing her mum, and who claims to be able to predict natural disasters.The brief trailer shows Ruth as forensic psychologist Gabs Fox, working at a high security psychiatric hospital where she meets 17-year-old Bethany, played by India.She is warned that the teenager is "very dangerous" but the teen insists: "We are all here to find the truth."Content cannot be displayed without consentA synopsis teased: "Bethany was convicted of murdering her mother but claims she is innocent. She is estranged from her father Leonard (played by Sam Hazeldine), who is the charismatic leader of an influential religious movement."Bethany tells Gabs that she has psychic powers and can predict the future - but what will it take for Gabs to believe her?
