The Hyundai Ioniq 5 Is Now America's Best-Selling EV That Isn't A Tesla

Hyundai has sold 20,730 Ioniq 5s this year.

This is up 9% compared to last year.

That makes it the best-selling non-Tesla electric vehicle in the U.S. so far this year.

For better or worse, Tesla has dominated the U.S. EV market. With well over 500,000 EVs sold last year in America, including over 350,000 Model Ys, Tesla is pretty much untouchable. But not every buyer is into what Tesla is offering, and the battle for second place is still very much on.

So far this year, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is America's new best-selling EV that isn't a Tesla. Since the start of the year, the Ioniq 5 has sold 20,730 units and is up a solid 9% year to date. Most of the other top-selling non-Teslas haven't fared nearly as well in this new, more difficult era for EVs.
