What a representation of American culture these days," whilst another wrote: "my immediate first thought. why would you want your wedding at a massive, soulless venue? not to mention, you’d have no privacy (although maybe that’s the point). It would be a complete mess for you and your guests to get in and out of the place plus all of the millions of people you’d be possibly inconveniencing. a total spectacle."Another fan noted: "I’ve been a swiftie for 15 years and this is the tackiest thing in the world I’m so embarrassed for her."‌However, others have suggested that the venue choice is to do with privacy, as it has underground car parks and there's no chances of drones being used to get shots of the wedding before the couple are ready to reveal."Isn't the point that there will be privacy or am I missing something? Isn't MSG one of the places you could have privacy? If you go outdoors there could be helicopters around (happened with Selena Gomez wedding no?), if you go to a random indoor place like a hotel there could be people forming crowds and trying to get in?" one fan said.Giving her verdict on the venue choice, Taylor's biographer Anna Pointer told us: "When people first started saying it was gonna be at Madison Square Garden, the reaction was, ‘Really? Why would she want to have a wedding in a stadium?’‌"But I think as time's gone on, it does make quite a lot of sense. There are no windows. She wants to keep this really private - we know that - so the world can't look in and see what's going on. I'm sure she will release a photo in her own time, and I'm sure it will be something she wants to share with her fans, but she doesn't want it to be this moment which is caught by the paparazzi."She added: "I think it makes sense that she's gonna have it in Madison Square Garden where we already know there's 70 NYPD officers already assigned to ensure it's really secure. Guests will be walking down shielded tunnels.Article continues below"Lots of people said it would take place in Rhode Island. there were various venues touted around initially but those are all a bit more public in a way - you could easily see from a distance with a long lens camera. This makes sense in the middle of New York where they can shut down streets, which is what is apparently happening. It’s gonna be lockdown in Manhattan essentially."Like this story?
