As an astronomy nerd, I can’t explain a technical concept without somehow dragging space into the conversation. So, to explain threat modeling, let’s look at our solar system.
Every planet is different. Each follows a different orbit, exists in a different environment, and is exposed to different risks. If we want the system to remain stable, we need to understand all of those moving parts — not only how they interact with each other, but also what external threats could suddenly appear and disrupt them.
After all, you cannot protect something if you don’t understand the universe it lives in.
