THE R10 million Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July takes center stage at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday but the country’s highest rated racehorse, Buffalo Storm Cody, lines up in Gr 3 POST Merchants, one of the supporting features and a race that adds sparkle to what is a smorgasbord of world class racing.
The POST Merchants is the ninth race on the 12-race card and will be run under lights.
The Paul Peter-trained Buffalo Storm Cody boasts an exceptional record of 10 wins from his 19 starts. He comes off a short break after finishing second to Jerusalema Rain on the Highveld but won five of his previous six starts. The blinkers are back on Buffalo Storm Cody and he should be difficult to peg back.
Buffalo Storm Cody was giving Sean Tarry’s Jerusalema Rain 8kg the day they last met and there is a 4kg turnaround in the weights this time around, but Tarry has a second string to his bow in Speedman who has won four of his six starts.
