A police inspector who survived a deadly gunmen attack that claimed the lives of two of his colleagues in Rivers State is battling for his life in hospital, as his family appeals to Nigerians for financial assistance to enable him receive urgent medical treatment.

The injured officer, identified as Inspector Godday Aleru, sustained severe gunshot wounds during the attack on Monday night at Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

His family members said they urgently needed about N1 million to commence proper treatment, lamenting that they could not afford the medical expenses required to save his life.

According to wife, the inspector is in severe pain and requires immediate financial support to continue treatment.
