Greece and the United Kingdom have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in London to cooperate on tourism. The MoU was signed by Greek Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni and her British counterpart, Stephanie Peacock.

According to a statement, it is the first formal agreement on tourism between the two countries, establishing a new framework for strategic collaboration.

The MoU has a five-year duration with an option for automatic renewal. It relates to joint initiatives in sustainable tourism development, investments, innovation and digitalization, tourism and professional training, and the exchange of technical know-how and best practices.

Particular emphasis is placed on developing niche tourism, such as gastronomy, wine, and mountain tourism, as well as agritourism. It also foresees a joint working group to monitor the MoU’s implementation and the expansion of the two countries’ collaboration.
