There's only one word to describe it: tacky. An Associated Press source said Wednesday that Swift and Travis Kelce will celebrate their wedding on Friday at Madison Square Garden, a rumor that had been circulating for a while. The area is a 20,000-seat venue. There will be between 500 and 999 people at the event, per a city permit. Apparently, preparations for the event began on Monday with staff working around the clock for a "big event," per sources to People magazine.New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said police “will of course have a detail in place" for the event, which is not open to the public. The couple has also hired private security. Then, earlier this week, there were more rumors that the couple was having a castle built inside the arena for the affair, per TMZ. A castle, really? There's been a ton of hullabaloo about the nuptials over the last several weeks. The event was reportedly planned for Swift's Rhode Island mansion until plans were leaked, according to TMZ.Media outlets and newsletters have tried to guess what she would wear, what their first song would be and have circulated the strict dress code. "America's Sweetheart" is getting her fairytale wedding — on America's 250th birthday, no less. But it sounds like it could be a nightmare for some folks in the Greater New York City area. Closing down all the streets around Penn Station, a major transit hub in New York City, on a long holiday weekend? Way to make a New Yorker shout a few expletives.Of course, social media users are flying to the internet to express their disdain for all the hoopla.See below.every new piece of info that comes out about the taylor swift wedding is sooo tacky— M3GAN (@malthoney) July 1, 2026
