Zoo staff and visitors, including off-duty paramedics and police officers, acted with "incredible speed and determination" to rescue the child. A 30-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident but was later bailed as he was assessed as not fit for interview. The boy remains in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge in a stable condition, having sustained serious injuries and undergone multiple surgeries. Both the zoo and the boy's family have expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped and supported the child, with the family focusing on his recovery.
