Police were called to the incident at 1.24 pm and confirmed the boy ended up in the enclosure, sustaining critical but stable injuries. The injured boy was transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire, where he is receiving medical attention, with specially trained officers supporting his family. Detectives from the Major Crime Unit of Cambridgeshire Police are investigating the incident and have stated they do not believe the arrested man and the child knew each other. Johnsons of Old Hurst, which opened its reptile house in 2019, offers a 'crocodile feeding experience' for £80, with its owner previously highlighting the lack of barriers for viewing animals.
