Einstein Bros. Bagels is a US-based chain that serves up more than 20 varieties of bagels. It's got classic flavors that are always in the rotation, gourmet options, plus limited-edition or seasonal ones.With so many choices — not to mention its wide selection of cream cheeses and other toppings — ordering can be intimidating.To figure out what's really worth getting, I ordered and tasted every available bagel at my local chain during my visit. I tried each on its own, toasted with cream cheese, and toasted with butter. Here's how each bagel held up, ranked from my least favorite to my top picks.

I don't think poppy seeds have a great flavor, so a plain, un-toasted bagel covered in the black seeds wasn't a winner. This bagel had a somewhat unpleasant taste, and the exterior was a little tough.Adding cream cheese and butter didn't help this one, either. Even with creamy spreads, the poppy-seed flavor was too strong to mask.I wasn't really a fan of this bagel, but I bet it would work well for breakfast sandwiches loaded with flavorful fillings. And, if you really like poppy seeds, you'll probably enjoy this.
