Members of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) Deemed-to-be University felicitated its Chancellor Prabhakar Kore on him being conferred with the Padma Shri.The event was organised at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belagavi on Wednesday.The former MLC and KLE director Mahantesh S. Koujalagi and others felicitated Dr. Kore.Vice-Chancellor, KAHER, Sandeep Shrivastava said that the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours, has been given by the Central government in recognition of Dr. Kore’s outstanding contributions to the fields of education, healthcare, literature and other fields.“The Padma Shri bestowed upon Dr. Kore is a well-deserved recognition of his extraordinary vision, dynamic leadership and lifelong contribution to education, healthcare and literature. His exemplary service has transformed institutions, touched countless lives and inspired generations. This honour reflects the enduring values of excellence, service and nation-building that KLE proudly upholds,” he said.He said that it is a moment of immense pride not only for KAHER or KLE Society but also for the entire family of KLE Society.H.B. Rajashekhar described Dr. Kore as a visionary leader whose outstanding contribution to the growth and development of KLE Society has been truly remarkable.“His leadership has significantly strengthened the society in the fields of education, healthcare, agriculture, research and literature, earning it recognition not only across India but also internationally. The award is a fitting tribute to his invaluable service to society,” he said.Welcoming the gathering, KAHER Registrar V.M. Pattanshetti read the citation on behalf of the university, highlighting Dr. Kore’s visionary leadership and his extraordinary contribution to the advancement of education, healthcare, research and literature.The citation acknowledged his unwavering commitment to nation-building through quality education, accessible healthcare and institutional excellence.Responding to the felicitation, Dr. Kore expressed his heartfelt gratitude and said: “I dedicate this Padma Shri Award to all the teachers and staff members of KLE Society whose tireless dedication, commitment and collective efforts have contributed immensely to the growth and development of KLE Society, KAHER and all its institutions for the last 110 years.
