A hoax bomb threat was emailed to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bengaluru, claiming explosives were planted at the high-security establishment. After a thorough security check by police and bomb disposal squads, the email was declared a hoax.The email was received by the ISRO staff post-lunch. They immediately alerted the police. The police, along with Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), rushed to the spot, and evacuated the campus.A thorough anti-sabotage check did not reveal any explosive material. The Sanjay Nagar police have taken up a case to track down the sender of the email.ISRO stated, “ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru was evacuated on July 2 after a bomb threat email. Police and bomb disposal squads searched the premises. No suspicious object found so far. Officials say the probe is on to trace the email.
