Plus-size model Alex Aspasia has recently noticed this pressure.‌She is bombarded with comments from trolls telling her to go on skinny jabs to alter her 27st frame. The curvy influencer said: “It’s time to have a talk. How I’m treated as a plus-size woman in today’s society really hurts...‌“I’ve noticed a shift in energy. I believe it’s tied to what’s culturally relevant right now, what’s considered the trendy beauty standard, and the look.‌“We know people are just really condemning bigger people; their lifestyles. I’ve always felt judgment and shame around my size, and a lot of emotions.“I’m tired of what being a bigger person in society has made me feel like. It’s 100 times worse right now."‌The 31-year-old, from Miami, US, believes people should be kind to those of all shapes and sizes – but sadly, others don't abide by this mantra. She said: "It’s just so crazy that we are dealing with very difficult times. Instead of loving our neighbours, we’re judging them.“I feel like every day I’m bombarded with online messages from people trying to get me to use [skinny jabs].‌“Also, people in my real life who I know have used them to lose weight have told me to get on them. But I refuse."Alex refuses to bow to pressure and wants people to remember the importance of feeling confident in their own skin. So when she is asked to lose weight or go on skinny jabs, the defiant influencer replies with a refusal every time.‌When Alex posted about the cruel comments she's received on Instagram, fans were quick to rally around her.One follower said: "I noticed this as well, it’s a trend right now to talk about plus size women... just don't let that get to you and keep being you.
