The first Black man to hold the Guinness World Record for the Longest Leadership Lesson, Peter Adeleke, has urged more Nigerians to pursue globally recognised records, saying such achievements can open international opportunities and showcase the country’s talent beyond entertainment and sports.

Adeleke, a leadership educator, author and project manager, made the call in a virtual interview with journalists on Wednesday while reflecting on his 28-hour, 45-minute leadership lecture, which earned him the Guinness World Record title.

He said his record was never about personal fame but about proving that Nigerians could compete globally in education, innovation and other knowledge-driven fields.

“When I set out to attempt the Guinness World Record for the Longest Leadership Lesson, my goal was never simply to have my name in a record book. I wanted to demonstrate that Nigerians have the capacity to compete with the very best in the world—not only in entertainment and sports, but also in education, innovation, endurance, research, and community impact,” he said.
