Dr Turnbull was widely recognised for her unwavering commitment to empowering vulnerable communities, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal's Valley of a Thousand Hills, where her vision and compassion helped create opportunities through education, skills development and community upliftment.

Among those paying tribute was the Embocraft Training Centre Trust, which described Dr Turnbull as an inspirational leader whose dedication transformed countless lives.

The organisation said it had the privilege of working alongside Dr Turnbull and Libby Weir, witnessing first-hand her passion for creating opportunities and restoring hope to communities.
