The Tourism Ministry is activating its monitoring mechanism for properties available through short-term rental platforms, giving clear orders to the regional tourism agencies.
According to the official document, the process starts with an initial sample of 1,500 properties, which were randomly selected and sent by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to the Quality Standards Directorate, from where they will be forwarded to the appropriate agencies.
These lists contain private data, so employees are asked to exercise special care and ensure complete confidentiality of data when processing them.
The procedure provided by the legislation states that the regional tourism agencies must send an electronic message to the managers or owners of the properties at least 10 days before the date of the inspection.
Through this written notification, those being audited are invited to submit within a certain period all the necessary documents defined by law.
