The Lonavala rural police took the accused Chetan Chaudhari to Lohagad Fort for crime scene recreation and gait analysis as part of the investigation into the Ketan Agrawal murder case.The investigation into the Ketan Agrawal murder case, which has drawn attention in Maharashtra, progressed with the Lonavala rural police conducting a crime scene recreation at Lohagad Fort. The accused, Chetan Chaudhari, was taken to the location on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) morning for the exercise.The police completed the recreation process on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. The accused was brought back to police custody after the procedure. The entire exercise took two hours and 40 minutes.During the crime scene recreation, the police examined the sequence of events from the day of the murder. The accused showed the route he took and demonstrated how the incident occurred. The police verified the claims made by the accused during interrogation. The exercise was conducted with the objective of presenting evidence in court.Gait analysis conducted during investigationThe police applied forensic science techniques during the investigation. Gait analysis was conducted on the accused to match his walking pattern with that of the suspect seen in CCTV footage from the area. This analysis serves as digital evidence for court proceedings.The investigation also includes technical and scientific evidence collection. The police have already completed the crime scene recreation with the other accused, Siya, prior to this exercise. The police expect new information to emerge from the investigation.Timeline of EventsMay 31: Siya conceived the plan to kill Ketan. The couple had gotten engaged on February 11. Ketan had taken Siya to Lohagad Fort for trekking, as it was his hobby. According to police, Siya decided to carry out the murder at the fort.June 5: Siya insisted on going to the fort again, but Ketan refused. Tickets had been booked for Ketan, his sister, a friend, and Siya to travel to Bali, Indonesia on June 6. According to Pune police, Siya hid Ketan’s passport to prevent the trip.June 14: Siya and Ketan went to the fort. Siya pushed Ketan, but he survived by holding onto a tree. When Ketan asked why she pushed him, Siya claimed she saw a snake and pushed him to save him. Ketan returned home and told his family that Siya had saved his life.June 18: The murder took place.Within six days of the murder: The police arrested both accused, Siya and Chetan. During interrogation, both accused have been implicating each other. The police conducted a joint interrogation of both accused.The police said the crime scene recreation would help verify the accused’s statements and strengthen the case.
