President Cyril Ramaphosa congratulated newly appointed Forestry Minister, David Maynier.

President Cyril Ramaphosa told newly appointed Forestry Minister David Maynier from the DA that there is no room for opposition politics in the Government of National Unity (GNU).

After Maynier took the oath of office at the Union Buildings, Ramaphosa said that all members of the GNU must work together despite their political differences.

“Now we are no longer on two sides, we are on one side. There are no longer those oppositional things,” Ramaphosa told Maynier.

The remarks came as five new ministers and deputy ministers from the ANC and DA were officially sworn into office following changes to the National Executive announced by the President on Tuesday night.
