The Ondo State Police Command has announced the rescue of a 61-year-old woman, identified as Mrs. Modupe Oladele, who was abducted by armed men in Owo, following a gun battle between its operatives and the suspected kidnappers.
The incident according to police in statement issued on Wednesday by the Command's spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, occurred in the early hours of June 23, 2026, when the suspects reportedly broke into the victim's residence, abducted her at gunpoint, and fled with her Toyota Matrix vehicle bearing registration number WWW-434-AG.
The Command said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of B Division, Owo, received a distress call at about 2:50am and immediately mobilised operatives to pursue the fleeing suspects.
