South African citizens looted supermarkets, vandalised ATM machines and broke into several businesses in KwaDabeka in Clermont, west of Durban, forcing the deployment of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to the troubled area.

This was disclosed in a report by South African Broadcasting Corporation monitored by Sahara Reporters.
