Not to belabour the point, but rather to expand on the existing cliché of, “if there is a will, there is a way,” Manie Libbok would like to pose the following for your consideration: if a braai can be made, then a braai will be had.
Or perhaps it is: if it looks like a braai, it cooks like a braai, and it smells like a braai, it must be a braai. It is, after all, the South African way, regardless of where one finds themselves in the world.
The Springboks flyhalf will readily admit that he hasn’t really picked up much in the form of Japanese, but that he has certainly taken a shine to yakiniku.
“The food is amazing,” Libbok said on Wednesday of Japanese cuisine. “I must say the yakiniku, I love that. It is almost like a braai but on a gas stove. You braai the meat and eat it off the grill.”
