I haven’t dated since, partly as I tend not to be attracted to men my age.Pre-date nerves?No, I practise yoga so I like to remind myself I’ll just breathe through any emotions I feel.First impressions?Thomas is only a little taller than me – I’m 5ft 3in – and when we shook hands I couldn’t help noticing how small his hands were. No big deal, and I didn’t want to make him self-conscious, but he noticed.Did sparks fly?Romantically? No. I asked him if he felt anything towards me after our date and he said he needed time. For me, a romantic connection is instant. We went to the park after our date and I kicked off my shoes and practised some yoga poses to aid my digestion. I invited Thomas to try but he said: ‘I can’t.’ I told him that phrase isn’t allowed in my studio and that his mind was responding before his body did.We had a goodbye hug. Thomas said he’s a good hugger but I only rated his hug a six out of ten. He asked for another go but I said no.What do you think he thought of you?I think he quietly, shyly, liked me. He steered the conversation towards long-term relationships and I avoided engaging with that. On a first date, it felt too much.Still, our date was on the summer solstice and after we parted ways, I felt lighter in my energy.Would your family like him?My mum would like Thomas. He’s friendly with nicely quiffed hair. But I’m not sure what she would make of the fact that, at the end of the date, I asked if he remembered my name. He didn’t. We exchanged a warm greeting with a handshake and straight away I had a positive feeling. I complimented her on her smile and she told me I had a calm vibe.Easy to talk to?Yes, it was a mature conversation because even though we’re both quite young, we’ve lived a bit. We touched on our families and past relationships, but steered clear of politics and the climate debate. It wasn’t that kind of afternoon.Embarrassing moments?Not for us but a waiter dropped something on the other side of the restaurant with a loud crash.Did sparks fly?Yes. We went for a walk to Kensington Gardens after our lunch date. We’d already made one another laugh a fair bit and it felt natural to go on somewhere else. There wasn’t any hand-holding or kissing, I’m afraid, but we did do some yoga together. That was a first for me. Zalayka complimented me on my strong core and said I was quite flexible.See her again?Yes, I’d like to. She asked me if I wanted her number and I said yes. Our date ended with a hug and we both said how much we’d enjoyed our time together. Thomas said he had a good feeling about Zalayka when they met and they went for a walk in the park after lunchWhat do you think she thought of you?At a guess, I think she liked my personality, though I’m not sure if she fancied me. I’m a really chilled person and she did remark that I’m a good guy to be around. We didn’t find one another hard work.Would your friends like her?Yes, because Zalayka has a sweet personality.
