Constable Waseem Gani and former Constable Winston Chetty
A SAPS crime intelligence officer and metro police constable – who were arrested for conspiring to kill a drug dealer – are living in fear after a video recently surfaced showing the drug dealer plotting their murder.
Constable Waseem Gani, 34, from the SAPS Crime Intelligence Unit in Pinetown, and Constable Winston Chetty, 36, from the metro police based at Albert Park, were arrested in a conspiracy to commit murder case in September 2025.
The charges were brought against them by an alleged drug dealer who was caught with over R150 000 worth of drugs – including cocaine, rock cocaine, mandrax, and ecstasy – in his home in Bayview in June 2025.
Gani was the officer in charge of the drug operation at the time.
