Two Chelsea signings set to join this summer have been pictured at the club's training ground, with Xabi Alonso also officially starting his role15:24, 01 Jul 2026Geovany Quenda has been spotted at Chelsea's Cobham training ground alongside the club's fellow new signing Dastan Satpayev. With Xabi Alonso officially beginning his tenure as head coach today (July 1), it appears other fresh faces for the Blues are also present.Pre-season doesn't kick off for another nine days, as confirmed by Chelsea, but players arriving on pre-agreed deals seem to already be at the training ground, with Satpayev photographed alongside FC Kairat owner Kairat Boranbayev and Chelsea sporting director Joe Shields. He has also been filmed in the gym performing squats, with Quenda visible in the background of that footage. The versatile 19-year-old agreed his Chelsea move in March last year as part of a deal with Sporting CP that also brought Dario Essugo to Stamford Bridge.Quenda, however, stayed in Portugal for the 2025/26 season, where he netted six goals and registered nine assists from 32 outings across various competitions. Given he was sidelined for four months with a broken metatarsal, those statistics are especially noteworthy, and his time away from action did afford the teenager a chance to get acquainted with the facilities at his new club. The arrival of Alonso could scarcely be better timed for Quenda, who excelled at wing-back for Sporting during the 2024/25 campaign, with the Spaniard typically favouring a three-man defence. Quenda has since been utilised further up the pitch and on either flank, highlighting his adaptability.FOLLOW OUR CHELSEA FB PAGE! Latest Blues news and more on our dedicated Facebook pageStrasbourg pair Emmanuel Emegha and Valentin Barco are Chelsea's other pre-agreed acquisitions poised to arrive ahead of next season. It remains uncertain which system Alonso will deploy, though the addition of right wing-back Marco Palestra from Atalanta hints he may be returning to his preferred setup. The Blues are also poised to bring in Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano, having sold first-choice left-back Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid. Enzo Fernandez is also on Los Blancos' radar.Malo Gusto is another player who could depart this summer with the club's former boss Enzo Maresca, now at Manchester City, keen on taking him to the Etihad Stadium. However, a £75million price tag appears likely to ward off any suitors despite both sides being open to a Stamford Bridge exit for Gusto after a disappointing campaign. With the World Cup underway, the respective futures of numerous players are unlikely to be settled until mid-July, with Gusto's France and Fernandez's Argentina expected to progress deep into the tournament.Article continues belowJoin our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
