The actress, 58, took to social media on Wednesday morning in which she spoke of her optimistic morning before she got in her vehicle and noticed something was wrong.‌The former soap star, who is best known for having played Emma Taylor on Coronation Street, even had her pet dog in the back of the car and panicked instantly when she noticed something was off with the lights.‌Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, she said: "So happy July, just had to share this with you because it's really made me laugh. Woke up this morning, first of the month, positive quotes, what lies ahead. And then, I've got in my car, looked at the light things.‌"Engine oil needs topped up. And I've literally gone from 'Isn't life wonderful?' to 'Oh my God, I've to drop the dog off and the engine oil is low and therefore I'm going to blow my dog up and kill us both and won't get to KwikFit in time."And then, brake fluid, oh my God, I'm not even going to be able to stop the car, we're definitely going to die." But then it dawned on Angela, who has also appeared in other TV hits like Casualty, Wolfblood and Our Girl, that she had been overreacting and she used the situation as a reminder to remain calm.‌She added: "Then more lights came on with options that I pressed and it said engine oil in 6000 miles, brake fluid, half full."So the moral is just to calm myself down with my little helicopter head that goes to the worse case scenario because all is well. I'm over it, haven't blown myself up, or the dog. Happy July!"Angela recently joined the cast of Emmerdale, playing DS Reid as Charity Dingle spoke to her after making a complaint of sexual assault against Dr Todd.‌Eagle-eyed fans who had tuned into the episode early on ITVX were quick to notice the soap star, who has also appeared in Hollyoaks, Our Girl, and Vera in recent years,. In real life, she was previously married to Perry Fenwick who stars as Billy Mitchell on BBC soap EastEnders. One fan wrote on X: "They brought in Angela Lonsdale as DS Reid. I wonder if this is a recurring role, whilst another joked: "Maybe the fact that they’ve brought Angela Lonsdale in to play the detective means the police won’t be terrible this time!"Article continues belowA third wondered what this meant for the overall canon of the soaps following the Corriedale crossover that took place earlier this year, and confirmed that both locations exist within the same universe. They wrote: "You can call her DS Reid all you like but the world's have merged, she is Emma Watts. Or Emma Reid now I suppose, I can well imagine her having had enough of Curly and finding someone better! #Corriedale," and another said: "'Im pretty sure Curly said he was divorced, so this could be true!"Like this story?
