Loose Women star Coleen Nolan couldn't resist making the comment to her son Shane Nolan as they, alongside her daughter Ciara Fensome, discussed marriage13:02, 01 Jul 2026Updated 13:21, 01 Jul 2026Coleen Nolan has taken a cheeky swipe at her son Shane Nolan's marriage, which came to an end just a year after the couple tied the knot. Speaking on the family's Nolans Uncensored podcast, the conversation turned to weddings, with Shane joking that he enjoyed attending them, but not having them.‌The eldest son of Coleen and actor Shane Richie married former Miss Great Britain Maddie Wahdan in 2022 at Rushton Hall in Kettering, six years after they first got together.‌In 2023, reports claimed they were heading for divorce following allegations of Shane's infidelity.‌Looking back on the wedding day, Shane, Coleen and her daughter Ciara Fensome recalled how the celebrations got off to a rocky start after the wedding cake began to collapse."My wedding cake melted," he declared, with the Loose Women star recalling the expensive cake being "tiny" as a result. "I do love a wedding though," Shane added.Unable to resist a cheeky dig, Coleen quipped: "A bit like your marriage, just melting from the start."‌After appearing taken aback by his mum's comment, Shane replied: "That is true, my fault, I hold my hands up."Reflecting on his stag do, the performer claimed it was "shocking", as he and his friends "didn't eat" because they spent their time partying in Ibiza.‌He went on to say that if he were to marry his current partner, Kim, he would do things differently."She'd get married tomorrow if she could, can't blame her," he joked. "I'd love an activity stag do now, I'm such a child, but do you know what I mean? Paintballing or [golf]. I [also] wouldn't mind [renting] a house."Elsewhere in the episode, Ciara jokingly described both Shane's and Coleen's marriages as "disastrous".‌The Loose Women panellist has been married twice – first to Shane and later to Ciara's father, Ray Fensome.She has previously admitted to staying in her first marriage longer than she should've done for the sake of their sons Shane and Jake Roche.This was down to the actor's infidelity, which he later addressed in his autobiography, Rags to Riches.‌Discussing how he lied to both Coleen and the woman he had cheated with, he confessed: "I was lying so much that I couldn't remember which story I'd told to each of them. And I'd lie to cover up the lies."Coleen has also admitted to being unfaithful in the past, previously claiming it was "very based on emotional neglect".Article continues belowReflecting on their divorce, she told the Daily Star in 2012: "I'm in a much happier place now than when I was married to Shane – I don't have to worry about what he gets up to any more."She has also previously spoken about the breakdown of Shane and Maddie's marriage, telling OK! magazine: "It’s always extremely sad when something doesn’t work out – it’s always sad for both parties."Obviously Shane’s my son and I adore him. And I still adore Maddie. I can sit and talk to Maddie for hours, I’ve been there and done it."
