FC Porto has made Jakub Kiwior’s loan move permanent, signing the Polish defender from Arsenal in a deal worth up to €22 million. The transfer, confirmed in early May 2026, locks Kiwior into a contract through June 2030 and includes a hefty €70 million release clause.
The initial fee sits at €17 million, with an additional €5 million available through performance-related add-ons. Arsenal also negotiated a €2 million sell-on clause, keeping a small financial stake in any future move for the 26-year-old.
From loan to long-term commitment
Kiwior arrived at Porto on loan during the summer of 2025, and the Portuguese club activated its purchase option to make the deal permanent. For Kiwior, the move represents something he struggled to find at Arsenal: consistent minutes. He originally joined the Gunners in January 2023 from Italian side Spezia, featuring in both the Premier League and Champions League during his time in north London.
