Canada views its agreement with Ukraine on joint drone production as the beginning of broader defense cooperation that could eventually include naval drones.
Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Natalka Cmoc said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
The Ambassador noted that on May 29, at CANSEC, Canada's largest defense industry exhibition, the two countries signed an agreement on the joint production of drones for Ukraine's Defense Forces.
"It is a big deal. Right now, it is focused on aerial drones, but nothing prevents this from being expanded to other types," Cmoc said.
According to her, the current plan is for Ukraine to receive specially designed reconnaissance drones capable of surveying terrain, assisting with operational planning, and helping protect infrastructure.
