Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to intensify efforts to mobilise revenue to ensure the State achieves the targets outlined in the Budget.At a review meeting held here on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said there should be realistic budgeting and tighter monitoring of revenue-generating departments while asking agencies such as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Telangana Government Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) to step up revenue mobilisation. Revenue CollectionHe also directed the Commercial Taxes, Excise, Mining and other departments to plug leakages and strengthen enforcement. Reddy instructed officials to set up a dedicated cell to continuously monitor revenue collection and follow up on pending dues. The departments must enhance their institutional capacity to meet the government’s revenue targets.The Chief Minister also called for leveraging artificial intelligence to integrate beneficiary databases with the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, improve the efficiency of welfare delivery and eliminate duplication.He directed officials to prepare the Budget based on realistic projections rather than assumptions, while ensuring adequate allocations for completing pending projects and other ongoing works. Land acquisition, he said, should be accorded top priority.The State government was prepared to extend all necessary support to departments, but there can be no complacency in revenue augmentation and resource mobilisation, the Chief Minister said, according to a release.Published on July 1, 2026
