New Delhi: State-owned Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) on Wednesday said its Director (Finance) Bijay Kumar Mohanty has assumed additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director on July 1, for a period of three months.Mohanty has been given additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA, after the superannuation of Pradip Kumar Das, as Chairman & Managing Director of IREDA on June 30, 2026, IREDA said in a regulatory filing.Mohanty holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of the company and serves as a Director on the Board of IREDA Global Green Energy Finance IFSC Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IREDA.Read more: Indian REITs Association appoints Shirish Godbole as chairpersonHe is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Master's degrees in Commerce, Philosophy and Public Administration, a Bachelor of Law, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Commerce.He has over 27 years of experience in the Indian power sector, with extensive e xpertise in finance, accounts, treasury, project appraisal, project execution & management, and commercial and legal functions.Prior to joining IREDA, he headed the Smart Metering Division at REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) and served as Senior General Manager (Finance & Accounts) at REC Ltd.During his tenure at REC, he worked as Chief Programme Manager for Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, West Bengal and Odisha, and also held additional charge of Chief Executive Officer of FACOR Power Ltd.Read more: Earlier, he worked with Central Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Ltd (CESCO) and Grid Corporation of Odisha Ltd (GRIDCO).
