Finland's Immigration Service has lifted a partial suspension on asylum decisions for Iranian nationals after concluding that it has gathered enough information about the security situation in Iran to resume processing all pending applications.
The agency, known as Migri, announced on Tuesday that the temporary pause introduced in February 2026 has ended.
The suspension followed changes in Iran's security situation that made it difficult for officials to assess how developments in the country could affect individual asylum seekers.
During the suspension, Migri continued processing only those applications that did not require updated information on conditions in Iran. Cases that depended on a fresh assessment of the country's political, humanitarian, human rights and security situation remained on hold.
