West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari has promised to chalk out a comprehensive development plan for the tribal community in Junglemahal region and sought the participation of Adivasis in building 'Vikshit Bharat'. Around ₹1,200 crore has been allocated in the state budget for tribal development, he said while speaking during "Hul Diwas" in Bankura's Mukutmanipur in the Junglemahal belt on Tuesday.Adhikari said BJP has made many tribals occupy high positions. "In BJP-ruled states, Vishnu Deo Sai in Chhattisgarh and Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha who are from the Adivasi community have become chief ministers. In our Cabinet, Khudirum Tudu, Jual Murmu and Bishal Lama have become ministers," Adhikairi elaborated. Adhikari said various schemes, aligned with central schemes, will be started for tribals from August. He said around 1.20 crore women will be given money from Annapurnar Yojana through DBT on Wednesday. Of them, five lakh are Adivasis.
