Phantom has hired the team behind Ventuals, a perpetual futures trading platform built on Hyperliquid, as the crypto wallet expands its trading products.
Ventuals founders Alvin Hsia, Emily Hsia and Aris Samad will join Phantom’s trading and data teams this week, Phantom cofounder and Chief Executive Officer Brandon Millman said Tuesday.
The three developers previously worked at companies including Airbnb, Brex and Paradigm before building Ventuals. Phantom said the platform grew to more than $1 billion in annualized trading volume.
Ventuals offered perpetual futures tied to private company valuations through Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 infrastructure. The platform announced earlier this month that it would wind down operations and join another team working in the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
Phantom said it became Hyperliquid’s largest distribution partner over the past year as perpetual futures and other open market products became a larger part of its wallet. The company plans to use the Ventuals team’s experience to accelerate its trading infrastructure and data capabilities.
