The home bought by a teacher after murdering his adopted baby son Preston Davey has gone on the market after he and his boyfriend were put behind bars - with the asking price slashed by £80,000.Depraved child killer Jamie Varley and his partner John McGowan-Fazakerley bought the newbuild home in the Preston village of Grimsargh for £450,000 in 2023.The large detached home has a manicured green garden, a double garage and spacious driveway - and the pair seemed to fit in with the area's suburban respectability. But despite appearances, the pair were subjecting Preston to a catalogue of physical, sexual and emotional abuse during the final four months of his short life before his death at just 13 months old on July 27 2023. Earlier this month, murderer Varley was sentenced to a whole life order, while child abuser McGowan-Fazakerley was jailed for 25 years. Now the couple's home has been listed online for sale by estate agents highlighting its features and pricing it at £370,000 - although there are also allusions to its criminal connections.Former secondary school teacher Varley, described by one officer as an 'arrogant, self-centred liar', told police Preston had accidentally drowned in a bath, but a post-mortem examination discovered the child had suffered 40 traumatic injuries. In the hours after Preston's death, Varley was arrested on suspicion of child cruelty, murder and sexual abuse of a child under-13. McGowan-Fazakerley, a sales manager for a finance company, was also arrested on suspicion of causing and allowing the death of a child and neglect.
