The decision is the latest blow to transgender athletes, who Republican politicians, including the Trump administration, have targeted.The NCAA changed its policy in 2025 to limit women’s sports to “student-athletes assigned female at birth only” shortly after an executive order from Trump, and the International Olympic Committee similarly reversed course in March, banning trans athletes from the women’s category and requiring genetic testing.This is a developing story.
