Nickeloden is celebrating SpongeBob’s birthday in style. Nickeolodeon has officially declared July 14 “SpongeBob Day,” which aims to be an annual celebration timed to the beloved character’s birthday within the world of the show.
The globally recognized kids’ programming brand has lined up a whole host of celebrations for the day, which will include SpongeBob voice actor Tom Kenny hosting a TikTok live on July 14 beginning at 6 p.m. ET with behind-the-scenes commentary, three never-before-seen alternate endings of the classic episode “Shanghaied,” first looks at upcoming specials, new exclusive toy reveals, and more.
Fan-favorite episodes will air on Nickelodeon beginning July 14, at 2 p.m. ET/PT, alongside all-day marathons on Nicktoons and Nick Pluto and a SpongeBob takeover on Nick.com.
Additionally, the Patrick Star official YouTube channel will launch that same day with clips, shorts, compilations and live streams from both “The Patrick Star Show” and “SpongeBob Squarepants.”
Roblox is also getting in on the fun. “SpongeBob Squarepants Tower Defense,” already a top performer on the platform, will drop new in-game content timed to “SpongeBob Day.” It extends the 70+ consecutive weeks of weekly updates for the game, with over 200,000 peak concurrent users.
