MTN Group has appointed Jerry Soko as Chief Executive Officer of its Eswatini operations, effective 1 July 2026, following seven months in the role on an acting basis.
The appointment forms part of a broader leadership renewal across the group as MTN continues to implement its Ambition 2030 strategy.
Announcing the appointment, Ralph Mupita, President and CEO of MTN Group, said Soko had helped restore momentum at the Eswatini business.
“Under Jerry’s leadership, MTN Eswatini has regained strong momentum, improving performance, strengthening operational discipline, and deepening customer engagement,” Mupita said. He added that Soko’s experience and understanding of the business positioned him to lead the company through its next phase of growth.
A qualified accountant with more than 20 years of experience in Africa’s ICT sector, Soko has focused on improving network performance, strengthening customer experience and driving operational efficiency during his time as acting CEO.
