The number of electricity consumers increased by 130,000, from 12.03 million in the third quarter of 2025 to 12.16 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, representing a 1.11 per cent increase.
This is contained in the Fourth Quarter (Q4) 2025 Electricity Report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the review focuses on energy billed, revenue generated and customers served by electricity distribution companies (DisCos) during the review period.
The report stated that, on a year-on-year basis, the number of electricity customers decreased by 8.52 per cent in Q4 2025 from 13.30 million recorded in Q4 2024.
It also stated that, in Q4 2025, the number of metered customers stood at 6.97 million, compared with the 6.66 million recorded in Q3 2025, indicating a 4.58 per cent increase.
