Greece’s top court has a new president and prosecutor after the incumbents reached the mandatory retirement age of 67.

Panagiotis Lymberopoulos was appointed president of the Supreme Court for a four-year-term, replacing Anastasia Papadopoulou who held the role since July 2025.

The new prosecutor of the Supreme Court is Evangelos Bakelas, who will remain in the position for two years, replacing Konstantinos Tzavellas.

Both Lymberopoulos and Bakelas secured the highest number of votes in the elections held in June last year.
