In a recent video, gardening expert and TikTok creator Michael Griffiths shared a few insider tips about what gardeners get wrong when it comes to mowing the lawn — and how they could be impacting the grass’s appearance and health.A major but overlooked mishap is the time when the lawn should be mowed. The gardening expert revealed that there’s a particularly bad time of day anyone could be mowing their lawn.In the video, Michael said: “Here’s three things nobody tells you about mowing your lawn. Number one: there is a worse time to mow.”It turns out that mowing your lawn in the early morning could actually be harming the garden’s appearance. Michael explained: "Early morning between around 6am and 8am, there will still be dew on the grass.Article continues below“Wet grass makes your mower work hard and will create clumps of wet grass. If you need to, do a pass on a higher setting first then move down.”Garden equipment producer Ego Power Plus agreed that the worst time of day to mow the grass is in the morning, specifically any time before 10am. The end result being a lawn with more brown spots than an overripe banana.”Instead, the gardening equipment experts recommended mowing the lawn during the mid-morning.
