The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has sympathised with the Correspondent Chapel of the Kogi State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists whose members were involved in an accident on Saturday.
Punch reports that the Correspondent Chapel was returning from Ekinrin-Adde, where they had gone for an official assignment, when a reckless truck driver hit the chapel bus, with some of the journalists sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
Although no life was lost, members were rushed to the hospital in Lokoja, where they were treated and discharged on Sunday.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Oyiza Afusat, on behalf of the Commissioner of police, CP Bello Kankarofi, reads, “The Nigeria Police Force, Kogi State Command, is deeply saddened by the unfortunate road accident involving our journalist colleagues in the State.
